Archives of Barbara Sellars Davis. This is the last letter Aunt Edith (Edith Berly Robbins Davis) wrote to her sister (Winnie Inez Robbins Sellars) The brothers & sisters were getting older so it was hard for them to visit much. Winnie was about 80 yrs. old at this time.

Dear Winnie,
We have had several good showers since you were here, but I expect that you have more rain up there in the mountains than we do here. Although we have had plenty lately. I hear on the news report that there has been snow out west. I sure do hate to see cold weather coming on.
You asked about Mattie Cash, She married a Thornton but she has been dead for several years.
Herman and Nell came over here. I think it was Tuesday and they went to Stella’s house and Buren’s and ask if they wanted to come and both said no. I had called a week earlier and asked Stella to let me send Carroll to get her but she was to busy getting her freezer filled. I think Buren came home on Wednesday after you went to see him. They say he sits on the front porch most all the time watching the cars go by.
I stay here at home practically all the time but I most always have something to do if it is just reading. I read a great deal.
I think Carroll is going to church more than he did, He has become better acquainted with the preacher. I haven’t felt like going recently. Nell carried me to the doctor’s office this morning and he said to come back in 2 weeks, so he must think I am better, but I went out to the back yard to throw out a little garbage over the fence and I had to sit down and rest and gasp for breath when I came back in.
Wesley told me he had went some to the Evangel Cathedral with his wife. I hope he continues to go.
The sky has become cloudy here, I hope there will be no bad weather right-away.
My preacher (the one I like best) says ones that know the Lord will soon return to earth to (rapture). The believers should be telling the ones that don’t know it the “He” is coming again soon. Are you telling your loved ones about it? I hope so.
I love you also.
Edith
